After a tense meeting turned south on Friday in the Oval Office, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is ready to sign the Minerals Deal with the United States and believes he’ll be able to salvage his relationship with President Trump and Vice President Vance.
Even though Zelenskyy said to reporters in London at a summit with European leaders over the weekend, if he was invited back to the White House, he’d return and, “If we agreed that it [the deal] will be signed, from our side we are ready to sign. I honestly think the United States will be ready, as well. May be they need more time to analyze some things.”
Zelenskyy also said, “An agreement to end the war is still very, very far away, and no one has started all these steps yet.”
That statement didn’t sit well with President Trump who responded on Truth Social, “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they has with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?”
