Volpe is First Yankee Rookie to Win Gold Glove

New York Yankees rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe became the first Yankee rookie in franchise history to win a Gold Glove Award.

He had 15 defensive runs saved in almost 1,350 innings played in 2023.

Volpe also became the youngest shortstop in history to win the award at 22years and 156 days old. Alan Trammell won the award in 1980 at 22 years and 228 days old.

Fun fact - Anthony Volpe made history on the offensive side as well when he became the first Yankee in franchise history to hit at least 20 home runs and steal at least 20 stolen bases as a rookie.
