USA Boxing Allowing Biological Men to Compete Against Women

USA Boxing has a new policy update which will allow biological men to compete in the ring against biological women.

Transgender women over the age of 18 will be allowed to compete in the female competitions, and according to the new rules, once they’ve completed their gender reassignment surgery. The transgender athletes will then go through quarterly hormone testing for a minimum of 4 years after the surgery and the total testosterone level must remain below 5 NMOL/L (nanomoles per liter).

Female athletes are outraged and are calling it dangerous for them and unfair. Ebanie Bridges, an Australian professional boxer said, “I will never agree to this…it’s bad enough having trans women breaking records in other sports like track and field, swimming and power lifting but it’s a bit different to them breaking our skulls in combat sports where the aim is to HURT YOU not just break a record.”  She added this policy is “wrong on so many levels.”

Top women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines is again outraged with the decision saying, “Glorifying men, we’re calling them champions, we’re giving them titles, they’re winning prize money for punching women in the face…Make no mistake this is not progress, this is not moving us in the positive forward direction, this is incredibly regressive. This is taking us back in time and it’s utterly misogynistic.”
