If its not woke the current US military leadership does not want to hear about it. US SOUTHCOM has canceled 2 scheduled screenings of the film Sound of Freedom. Citing critics suggesting the screening would infringe on the military's apolitical nature and tow the line on a separation of church and state. A ridiculous claim considering current military leadership continues to push woke agendas such as CRT, climate change, and LGBTQ issues.
Sunnetta Slaughter, a supposed human trafficking consultant asked "what is the idea and the ideology behind putting this on a military installation? Is this some form of indoctrination into an ideology of extremism?" This about a movie covering this exact topic of what this person is a consultant of. If truly a consultant of this area they should feel the more eyes on it would be best.
SOUTHCOM did decided to promote the movie in local theaters saying "The movie's central theme and its connection to SOUTHCOM's AOR and our Human Rights Office (HRO) Combating Trafficking In Persons (CTIP) program are inescapable and will serve to raise awareness of the prevalence of trafficking in human persons and sexual abuse and exploitation within our area of our responsibility." So SOUTHCOM has programs that oversees human trafficking yet pulled the screening because of pressure from woke groups. If this was some woke agenda film it would of been shown all over but a film covering an actual topic that you are responsible for, you cave and not push out the message.
