US Launches Strikes on Targets in Iraq, Syria

The US military has hit more than 85 Iran linked targets in Iraq and Syria in retaliation for the Iran backed drone strike that killed three American soldiers in Jordan last week.

The airstrikes conducted by U.S. forces targeted Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC), Quds Force, and affiliated militia groups in Iraq and Syria, according to a statement released by U.S. Central Command, which oversees operations in the region.

President Biden said in a statement "retaliatory strikes will continue at times and places of our choosing."

According to Central Command the strikes targeted facilities associated with the terror network's "command and control operations centers, intelligence centers, and rockets and missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicle storages, and logistics and munition supply chain facilities of militia groups and their IRGC sponsors who facilitated attacks against U.S and coalition forces."
