Two women from Kansas have disappeared after leaving Kansas to drive to Oklahoma on Saturday.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) doesn’t have a trace of where Veronica Butler, 27 and Jilian Kelley, 39 went or what happened to them. The vehicle the women were travelling in was found abandoned in a rural area just south of the state’s border with Texas.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Advisory for the women.
According to Tim Singer, a pastor where Butler attends church, she and Kelley were traveling from Hugoton, KS to Oklahoma to pick up children, but the women never made it.
Singer contacted Kelley’s husband Heath, a pastor at another church and the two men traveled in the direction they believed the women were going. As they were coming up to the vehicle, law enforcement was already on scene investigating.
OSBI spokesperson Hunter McKee said, “Agents are still working around the clock on this to try to find where these women are, what may have occurred.” There are currently no suspects and there haven’t been any reported threats toward the women.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of these women is asked to call 1-800-522-8017 or contact tips@osbi.ok.gov.
