On the opening day of the 2023 MLB playoffs the Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in game one of their wildcard series snapping the franchise's 18 game postseason losing streak. Twins rookie Royce Lewis supplied the power hitting home runs in his first two at bats. The 24 year old became just the third player in MLB history to hit home runs in his first two plate appearances, joining Even Longoria (2008) and Gary Gaetti (1987).
