U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has set a trial date for President Donald Trump's attempted assassin, Ryan Routh for Monday, November 18th, 2024.
Routh, who pleaded not guilty to five federal charges, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, has been ordered to remain in jail without bond as he awaits trial.
Besides the attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate charge, Routh also faces charges of illegally possessing a firearm as a felon, having a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and assaulting a federal officer.
Routh was lying in wait for Trump at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida on September 15th. The Secret Service spotted the barrel of his rifle poking through a fence/bushes.
He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
