Toyota will be recalling 280,663 pickup trucks and SUVs and will also issue a software update to address concerns over unexpected movement caused when vehicles are in neutral and the brakes are not applied, according to a U.S. auto safety regulator.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, dealers will issue a free software update on the impacted vehicles for the transmission control ECU (electronic control unit) software.
Vehicles included in the recall are Tundra, Tundra Hybrids and Lexus LX600 produced from 2022 to 2024. The Sequoia SUV's manufactured last year are also part of the recall.
