Towns Breaks Franchise Record

Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns broke the franchise record for most points in a game that he set in 2022. On Monday night,  Towns scored 62 points in the Timberwolves 128-125 loss to the Charlotte Hornets to set the new franchise record and new career high.

Towns scored 44 points in the first half.  That was the most points scored through the first two quarters since 2003.

*** For the first time since 1978, the NBA had two players score 60 or more points on the same day. Monday saw both players setting career highs, and franchise records when Joel Embiid scored 70 points against the San Antonio Spurs, and Karl-Anthony Towns scored 62 points against the Charlotte Hornets. The last time it happened was on April 9, 1978 when David Thompson and George Gervin scored 73 and 63, respectively.
