TikTok Returns to App Stores

After the Chinese-owned app was removed from app stores on January 18, due to a ban over national security concerns, TikTok was returned to Apple and Google’s App Stores Thursday evening.

President Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office pausing the enforcement of the ban for 75 days, until April 5. TikTok returned for use for anyone who already had the app on their devices, but had remained off app stores.

The Justice Department insured they wouldn’t take any legal action against the app stores for adding TikTok back for customers to download.

President Trump could possibly delay the ban longer in hopes to find a U.S. buyer of the app to address the national security concerns.

Since its return to the app stores Thursday evening, TikTok is number one out of the top three downloaded apps in the Apple Store.
