According to data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), over 5,000 illegal immigrants have voluntarily self-deported last month using the Custom and Border Protection Home app.
Thousands are opting for self-deportation as opposed to potentially getting arrested, fined daily, and being removed by force without potential to return to the US.
