That's right. The rich are certainly getting richer.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are making this a great off-season for their fans.
The Dodgers and Japanese star Yoshinnobu Yamamoto have agreed on a 12 year, $325 million contract pending a physical. The contract also has a pair of opt-out clauses.
The 25 year old is a three time winner of the Eiji Sawamura Award (Japan's Cy Young Award). His deal is the largest for a pitcher in MLB history.
Yamamoto heads to the Dodgers after a 7 year career with the Orix Buffaloes of the Nippon Professional Baseball League. He amassed a record of 75-30, 1.72 ERA in 967 2/3 innings.
He also received a 12 year, $325 million offer from the New York Mets & a $300 million offer from the New York Yankees. The number of years for that deal were not disclosed.
The Dodgers will also pay a $50.6 million posting fee..
