Tesla Cybertruck Explosion Linked to a Veteran

Matthew Alan Livelsberger, 37, pending DNA identification, of Colorado Springs, Colorado resident and active-duty Army Green Beret on approved leave, is the suspect of the Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, January 1 about 8:39 a.m.

Livelsberger rented the electric Tesla Cybertruck in Colorado through the Turo rental car app on 12/28/24 in Denver, Colorado and a digital footprint showed the charging stations he stopped in along the route to Las Vegas.

Around 7:30 a.m., the Cybertruck, with the help of video surveillance, was seen driving up and down Las Vegas Boulevard, circling around and making a few stops, one including Trump Hotel, for about an hour before pulling up and stopping for its final time in front of the Trump Hotel, where it exploded 17 seconds after it stopping.

Livelsberger’s military identification, passport, Dessert Eagle 50 caliber semi automatic pistol, SLR model B 30 semi automatic firearm, multiple fireworks, an iPhone, smart watch and credit cards were found in the vehicle. Livelsberger purchased both firearms on 12/30/94.

Livelsberger was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head and one of the handguns was at his feet inside the vehicle. Detonation Basic, consumer grade fireworks, mortars, fuel enhancers and explosive targets aided in the explosion.

Although still pending investigation, there isn’t confirmation that Livelsberger worked with or knew Jabbar (New Orleans terror attack driver) but there are several similarities including they both served at Fort Bragg, NC, both served overseas in Afghanistan in 2009, and both used Turo to rent the vehicles.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact 1-800-CALL FBI.
