With her latest album released last week, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets
Department topped charts debuting at number one. This is Swift’s 14 th number one
album, tying her with the most number one albums by a solo artist with Jay-Z. Only
the Beatles have more number one albums with 19.
The Tortured Poets Department brought in $2.61 million in sales in the U.S. its first
week, and marked the biggest first-week since Adele’s album, 25, in 2015.
Swift also reached number one on the charts in Australia, Britain, Canada, France,
Germany, and other various countries.
