Target announced Monday it will begin cutting prices on about 5,000 grocery and household items. Frequently bought items will see lower prices in order for the company to stay competitive through a time where customers are feeling inflation the most.
Grocery items such as milk, meat, bread, fruits, vegetables, diapers and paper towels will receive price cuts, if they haven’t already.
Consumers have been pulling back on spending and being more selective about what they are purchasing as the annual inflation has been above 3%.
Rich Gomez, executive vice president and chief food, essentials and beauty officer at Target said, “We know consumers are feeling pressured to make the most of their budget, and Target is here to help them save more… Our teams work hard to deliver great value every day, and these new lower prices across thousands of items will add up to additional big savings for millions of consumers that shop Target each week for their everyday needs.”
