Tampa Lightning Icon Signs with the Nashville Predators

Tampa Bay Lightning icon and captain, Steven Stamkos, 34, has signed a four-year deal for $32 million with the Nashville Predators.


The lightning drafted Stamkos with the first overall pick of the 2008 NHL draft. Stamkos had been with Tampa for 16 years and has been a staple player to the team and the city. 


Stamkos was part of the team when they won back-to-back Stanley Cup Championship Finals. His accolades include holding the franchise records for the most points at 1,137, most goals at 555, most power play goals at 214 and most games played at 1.082 to name a few.


Stamkos posted on X saying, “Thank you Tampa I don’t have the words yet…. I will soon. It’s still too early to process. Just wanted everyone to know how thankful we are for 16 years as a bold. My family and I are excited for the next chapter….”
