Supreme Court Gives Trump Unanimous Decision

On Monday morning, the United States Supreme Court unanimously ruled that President Donald Trump can remain on the presidential primary ballot in Colorado.

The 9-0 decision reverses Colorado's Supreme Court 4-3 decision to remove Trump from the ballot, citing his actions on January 6th, 2021, as violating the 14th Amendment.

This order will also overturn the disqualification orders handed down by officials

and judges in Maine and Illinois.

The order states that only Congress, and not individual states, can disqualify candidates for federal office under section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which is known as the disqualification clause.

"Responsibility for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates rests with Congress and not the States. The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court therefore cannot stand. All nine Members of the Court agree with that result," the order says.
