Still No Answers or Evidence to Ken Paxton’s Impeachment

Some 53 days ago, one of the most popular “America First” figures, state Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, was impeached by the Texas House of Representatives and there’s still no evidence as to why they’ve done so. Dade Phelan, Texas’ House Speaker has yet to give any evidence as to what grounds Paxton’s impeachment occurred. Under Texas law, it is required to give answers and evidence to Paxton, but there has yet to be any.

Paxton’s attorney, Tony Buzbee can’t seem to get any answers other than the blanket response of “obstruction of justice” and “disregard of official duty.” Buzbee went off on an extremely long statement this week, parts include him saying, “At the direction of Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, and with the guidance of lawyers from the Obama Administration, Biden Justice Department, the House voted to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton after what can only be described as a secretive and now discredited sham investigation.” Buzbee went on to say that House Managers, appointed by Phelan “continue to disregard individual rights” and are “withholding basic information they are legally required to disclose.”

Buzbee also stated that he’s demanded this information, to no avail and the House has “ignored our demands and the Attorney General’s constitutional rights.” Buzbee’s lengthy statement also included, “The house voted to impeach Attorney General Paxton without any evidence and now they are desperate to manufacture new charges; apparently they want to saddle the Senate with weeks of testimony over baseless allegations.” Paxton’s impeachment trial will begin on September 5 and isn’t expected to testify as of right now. Paxton will face the possibility of permanently being removed from office.
