Iconic American rapper Snoop Dogg, 52, is named as one of the final torchbearers of the Olympic flame.
Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., will carry the torch on one of the final legs of its long journey through the streets of the suburb Saint-Denis on Friday. The torch was lit in April in ancient Olympia, Greece, as it has for years.
Snoop Dogg tweeted a picture of himself in Paris with the caption: “U ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digggg.”
In December, Snoop Dogg revealed he will appear in prime time shows on NBC and Peacock providing “regular reports” and “explore the city’s iconic landmarks” during the Olympics.
“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness,” said Snoop Dogg.
