Shooting in Georgia High School

Gunfire was reported Wednesday morning at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. Barrow County Sheriff, Jud Smith said in a press conference that there have been multiple injuries. He did not yet confirm there were two casualties who were reported earlier today.


Sheriff Smith said they had one suspect in custody and that they were working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), EMS, and many federal agencies.


It was earlier reported that Medvac helicopters took two patients to hospitals.


Sheriff Smith was not releasing names and/or counts of injuries/deaths at this time. He said it was a fluid, active investigation and hopes to have more answers at a 4 p.m. briefing.
