Series of MS-13 Gang Member Arrests in South Florida

Pam Bondi, U.S. Attorney General announced a series of arrests in South Florida of members with the MS-13 Gang in connection of four gang-related cold case homicides in Broward and Palm Beach Counties in 2014 and 2015. 

Along with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, BSO’s Cold Case Homicide Unit and Gang Investigations Task Force, the FBI, U.S. Border Patrol and local law enforcement agencies, Bondi announced the arrests of nine suspected MS-13 gang members in Fort Lauderdale Friday morning.

These arrests were part of ‘Operation Sombra De La Bestia’ (Operation Shadow of the Beast) and according to Bondi, “they were all part of a MS-13 ‘Click’…They’re not just a street gang, they are a highly organized terrorist organization.”

The suspects will face 1st degree federal murder charges.

“These indictments are a warning to all criminals, we don’t care how long ago you committed the crime, we don’t care where you go, we will find you, we will arrest you and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law,” Bondi said.
