The Seattle Police Department is hunting for suspects who are recording videos of them purposely-hitting pedestrians and leaving the scene.
A backseat driver is recording the driver swerving to hit a female pedestrian; you can hear laughter in the vehicle and then they speed away. A video security surveillance camera also caught the incident from across the street at about 1:50 a.m. on November 26.
A second assault occurred about a half a mile away, around the same time, but in a different vehicle. The victim was hit from behind, tumbled over the top of the car, and people inside the car are laughing as they drive away.
Authorities are still trying to determine if both incidents are connected and didn’t reveal where they received the cell phone video footage. Detectives have been searching for victims and suspects.
Police Chief Adrian Diaz is asking for any witnesses to come forward.
