Search For Missing Texas 11-Year-Old Continues

Since last Thursday, February 15, officials have been searching for Audrii Cunningham, an 11-year-old girl who mysteriously disappeared after leaving her home for the school bus just before 7 a.m. in Livingston, Texas. Audrii never got on the bus that morning or made it to school.

A “Hello Kitty” backpack, believed to belong to Audrii, was found along the shore of Lake Livingston.

Police have arrested a main person of interest, 42-year-old Don Steven McDougal in custody. McDougal happened to be arrested Friday in an unrelated aggravated assault charge. McDougal lives in a camper behind the home where Audrii lives with her dad and apparently has brought Audrii to the bus stop in the past, so this wasn’t out of the ordinary.

McDougal admitted to taking Audrii to the bus stop that morning. Police say McDougal isn’t cooperating or telling them what happened after they left the home. Although McDougal isn’t formally a suspect, he remains the main person of interest, since he is the last person to have seen Audrii before her disappearance.

Police are asking for any tips or sightings of McDougal’s dark blue 2003 Chevrolet Suburban to Polk County Sheriff’s Office, through iWatch Texas app or call (936) 327-6810.
