School Shooting in Wisconsin

Another school shooting took place on Monday, this time in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS), a private school.

The shooter is being identified as Natalie Rupnow, a 15-year-old student at ALCS, who used a handgun that killed a teacher and a teenage student. Rupnow injured six other students; two were released from the hospital, two are in stable condition and two remain in life threatening critical condition.

A second grade student contacted 911 to report the incident at 10:57 a.m. in the K-12 school that teaches about 400 students. Police arrived on the scene about 11 a.m. and found Rupnow dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said, “The shooting happened inside a classroom in a study hall of students from mixed grades.”

At this time Shon said, “The parents are fully cooperating, we have no reason to believe that they have committed a crime at this time.”

An investigation is underway to determine if there was any potential warning signs, what the motive was and school video surveillance will be used to determine Rupnow’s digital footprint.
