The former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver was sentenced to at leased 3 years and possibly up to 10 in a Nevada prison for killing a women in a fiery crash while driving his sports car up to 165mph drunk on a city street almost 2 years ago.
The November 2, 2021 predawn collision killed Tina Tintor and her dog Max, and injured Ruggs' passenger, Kiara Je'nai Kilgo-Washington (fiancé and the mother of his doughtier). The former 1st round NFL draft pick Henry Ruggs III was cut by the Raiders while he was still hospitalized following the crash.
"I sincerely apologize, I have no excuses" Ruggs said, citing the pain the case has caused his family, teammates and Tinor's family. He said he intends to counsel others "about the dangers of driving at unsafe speed and driving and drinking once out of prison".
