Putin, Un Meet in North Korea

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday to meet with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

It's the first time in 24 years that Putin has visited North Korea and it comes as tensions grow between North Korea and Washington.

Putin pledged his support for North Korea against the United States.  Russia has received dozens of of ballistic missiles and over 11,000 containers of munitions for use in Ukraine.

North Korean state media published an op-ed by Putin hours before he arrived in which he thanked North Korea for supporting Russia's military operations in Ukraine and praised the nuclear-armed country for its resistance against "U.S. pressure, blackmail and military threats."

"As Russia continues to seek international support to sustain its illegal and brutal war against Ukraine, we reiterate that no country should give Putin a platform to promote his war of aggression and otherwise allow him to normalize his atrocities," a U.S Embassy spokesperson in Vietnam said in a statement.
