San Diego Padres manager Mike Shildt announced that right-handed starter Yu Darvish is going on MLB's restricted list due to a "personal matter involving his family."
"We want to respect his privacy. He wants to make sure that everybody knows that he's physically in a good spot. He's still working on his craft but he is going to step away right now," Shildt said.
There is no timetable for Darvish's return.
