Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin has scored at least 30 goals in a season for an NHL record 18th time in his career. He passed Mike Gartner who had accomplished the feat 17 times.
Ovechkin now has 852 career goals, moving him within 42 of the "Great One" Wayne Gretzky's all-time record of 894.
