Orionid Meteor Shower Tonight

Tonight the Orionid Meteor shower will be at its peak into the early hours on Saturday morning. It is expected to have as many as 20 shooting stars per hour, making it the strongest meteor shower since the Perseids in mid August. Meteors will start to appear around 10 pm with the greatest numbers showing between 1am and dawn, according to the American Meteor Society. That is the time they say the showers radiant point located near the constellation Orion in the south east climbs high in the sky. The higher the radiant point is in the sky, the higher the meteor activity will be.
