On March 10, 1876, just days after receiving the patent for the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell transmitted the first successful phone call. Bell was in another room in his Boston laboratory when he spoke to his assistant via telephone and said, “Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you.” Bell revolutionized communication with this breakthrough invention.
