On November 21, 1916, the Britannic sinks in the Aegean Sea, killing 30 people. The Britannic is the sister ship to the Titanic. The luxury ship was serving as a ‘hospital ship’ during WWI and was en-route to pick up wounded soldiers near the Gulf of Athens when it struck a naval mine. Nearly 1,100 people were rescued.
