On June 25, 2009, “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson died at age 50. Jackson died in his Los Angeles home when he suffered from a cardiac arrest caused by a combination of drugs given to him by his personal doctor.


Jackson began his iconic singing career with his brothers as the lead vocalist in the family group, the Jackson 5 in 1964, when he was just 5 years old. Jackson went on to begin acting and solo career in 1971. His career took off when he teamed up with Quincy Jones in 1979.


Jackson’s accolade include 13 Grammy Awards, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement and Legend Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, 6 Brit Awards and 24 American Music Awards to name a few.


Jackson was one of the most successful entertainers in history.
