On This Day in History

On April 10th, 1925, the novel The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald was published.

Though it had a disappointing debut, the Jazz Age story became popular after Fitzgerald's death in 1940. It would become a staple on high school students reading lists in the U.S.

The story of lost romance, materialism, and the American Dream will go on to resonate with its readers long after its debut.
