On This Day In History

On May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay become the first explorers to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Mount Everest sits on the crest of the Great Himalayas in Asia, on the border of Nepal and Tibet. Being the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest is 29,035 feet above sea level.
