On May 2nd, 2008 Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark was released.

Iron Man was directed by John Favreau and was the first film released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man, the X-men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Ant-Man. 


Almost all have been made into movies under the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The only one of those characters that hasn't been made into a film yet is the Scarlet Witch. It is reported that Marvel is moving forward with plans for a Scarlet Witch movie.
