On This Day in History

On April 6th, 2009, basketball great Michael Jordan was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. 


Jordan was born on February 17th, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. 


Also known as MJ, Air Jordan.


Considered one of the greatest all-around players in NBA history.  He led the Bulls to six National Basketball Association Championships. He was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player five times (1988, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1998) and Defensive Player of the Year (1988) once.


Jordan led team USA to gold medals in 1984 and 1992.
