On March 31, 1889, the Eiffel Tower’s construction was completed in Paris, France. The tower’s designer, Gustave Eiffel, Pierre Tirard, the French Prime Minister, along with other dignitaries and 200 construction workers, celebrated the dedication ceremony. Construction began in January 1887 and honored the 100th year of the French Revolution.
