On This Day In History

On March 19, 1931, Nevada legalized gambling. Nevada’s state legislature voted in favor of making gambling legal in the attempt to lift the state out of the Great Depression and then Governor Fred Balzar, signed Assembly Bill 98. Las Vegas has been the ‘capital of the world’ for its gambling and entertainment and is famous for its casinos, nightclubs and sporting events. Gambling taxes are the majority of Nevada’s revenue.
