On This Day In History

On February 25, 1940, for the first time, the NHL televised a game. New York’s W2XBS transmitted the game, a National Broadcasting Company’s experimental station that was used to test television technology. An estimated 300 viewers watched the New York Rangers beat the Montreal Canadiens, 6-2, in Madison Square Garden, NYC.
