On January 16, 1945, Adolf Hitler descended into his underground bunker. The bunker was 55 feet under his headquarters and consisted of 18 small rooms equipped with water and electrical supply. Hitler married Eva Braun in the bunker before committing suicide 105 days after entering the hideaway. Both Hitler and Eva took cyanide capsules, which were tested for efficacy on his dog and her pups, then he also shot himself with his pistol.
