On This Day In History

On December 13, 2000, Vice President and presidential candidate, Al Gore conceded to George W. Bush after weeks of legal battles over the recount in Florida. Gore had won the popular vote by over 500,000 votes but narrowly lost in Florida. Bush ended up with the Electoral College advantage 271-266.
