On November 8, 1864, President Abraham Lincoln was elected to a second term even though the Civil War was in its fourth year.


On November 8, 1960, Democratic candidate, John F. Kennedy (JFK) was elected President at age 43 becoming the youngest man to ever take the office. JFK was also the first Catholic to become president.
