On April 24th, 1974 actor/comedian Bud Abbott passed away at the age of 76 from prostate cancer. 


Born William Alexander "Bud" Abbott on October 2nd, 1897 in Asbury Park,  New Jersey,  

Abbott became famous as part of the comedy duo Abbott & Costello.  On October 8th, 1942, Abbott & Costello launched their weekly radio show.
