On This Day In History

Updated: Nov 7

On November 7, 1944, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) was elected to an unprecedented fourth term as United States President. FDR was first elected to office in 1932 and served until mid-1945, when he passed away in office. FDR presided over two of the biggest crises America faced: in the 1930’s, the Great Depression and in the 1940’s, World War II. FDR is the first and only American President to serve more than two terms.
