On This Day In History

On August 26, 1920, after more than 70 years of woman suffragists fighting, the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote is formally adopted into the U.S. Constitution. The amendment reads, “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on the account of sex.”
