On This Day In History

On August 15, 1899, Henry Ford resigned from his chief engineer position at the Edison Illuminating Company’s main plant in Detroit, MI. Ford wanted to concentrate on automobile production. Ford created his first functioning gasoline engine in 1893 and his first horseless carriage in 1896 named the “Ford Quadricycle Roundabout.” Ford went on to introduce the Model T automobile in 1908 and credited for inventing the modern-day moving assembly line in 1913.
