On This Day In History

On August 14, 2003, a major power outage knocked out electricity across the eastern U.S. and parts of Canada. The outage began at 4:10 p.m. ET when 21 power plants shut down with in 3 minutes. Depending on the location, the outage was anywhere from 2 hours to 4 days. Over 50 million people were affected.
