On August 1, 1944, Anne Frank wrote her final entry in her now famous diary, three days before being found and arrested. Frank, her family and 7 others were hiding in a secret annex behind her father’s business in Amsterdam. The entrance to the annex was accessible through a secret, revolving bookcase. The Frank’s went into hiding on July 6, 1942.
The Diary of Anne Frank became a symbol of the Holocaust. It was first published in 1947.
