On July 20th, 1988, action film Die Hard staring Bruce Willis as New York City cop John McClane opened in theaters across the United States.
It would be a huge box-office hit establishing Willis as a movie star.
The film follows McClane to Los Angeles, California for his estranged wife's Christmas party. Terrorists take over the building and McClane must put his talents to use to thwart the band of terrorists.
